Dr. Paul Jang, Periodontist

He currently maintains a private practice specializing in all aspect of periodontal therapy with strong emphasis in dental implant surgery, bone and soft tissue grafting. In 2006, he was invited to teach at the Faculty of Dentistry of University of British Columbia where he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Implant Surgery. He is the founder and director of the Northwest Dental Study Club.


Dr. Jang provides all aspect of periodontal and implant therapy with special emphasis on periodontal cosmetic procedures and advanced non-invasive implant therapy to complete patient’s overall oral health.

Abstract:

Healthy soft tissue support is critical not only around natural teeth but also around dental implants. Theres are many techniques that have been proven to provide long term successful outcome including free gingival graft and connective tissue grafting techniques. Participants will learn both traditional and newer techniques to address mucogingival defects for esthetics and functional support. Review of surgical techniques and management of complications will be discussed.


Dr. Philip Kim, General Dentist

Philip Kim, a former computer scientist, has always had an affinity towards cutting-edge technologies. His journey with 3D printing started in 2018, and since then, he has been astounded by the transformative impact it has had on his dental practice. He received his dental degree in 2010 from the University of Manitoba and has a general practice located in Vancouver. When he’s not 3D printing, he enjoys skiing Whistler and cycling around Vancouver.

Abstract:

While dental 3D printing is relatively new, its profound impact on the dental profession cannot be overstated. This presentation will cover the Who, What, Where, When, Why and How to start 3D printing in your dental practice. Various current practical applications of 3D printing in dentistry will be covered as well as cost comparisons. The aim of this short presentation is to open the attendee’s eyes to the amazing world of dental 3D printing.
